Girls Wilderness Explorations

Our summer programs are big adventure days immersed in exploring the Northwest's mossy forests, wild rivers, mountain meadows, tumbling waterfalls, and pebbled beaches.

We go deep and wide with meaningful connections and joyful discovery!

While exploring, we aim to help kids:

  • Discover their capabilities through appropriate challenges
  • Better understand themselves and others
  • Develop their collaborative leadership capacity

Summer programming typically runs June – August with registration opening in mid-March.

Day Camps

  • Three to five all-day adventures – sometimes with an overnight
  • Mentor-facilitated learning and discovery outdoors
  • Open to all kids, regardless of membership in Explorers Club, in grades 1-8

Wilderness ExplorationS

  • Three to eight day backpacking trips
  • Mentor-facilitated, multi-night learning and discovery outdoors
  • Open to all kids, regardless of membership in Explorers Club, in grades 5-11

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our immunization policy for backpacking trips requires a tetanus booster within the last five years and a current copy of your child's Immunization Record showing a full primary tetanus vaccine series in order to participate. There is no exception to our immunization policy for any trip lasting 36 + consecutive hours. Immunization records are due as soon after registration as possible or by no later than 30 days prior to your trip departure date.

Wild Whatcom is proud to work with the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Olympic National Park, and North Cascades National Park as authorized outfitter guides.

Cost

Please see specific camp and trip costs below. All summer program payments are due by June 1, 2017. To arrange installment payments, please contact Registrar Lisa Meucci.

Scholarships

We want any child to be able to participate, regardless of financial circumstances. If financial assistance is necessary for participation, please fill out our request form during registration. For summer programs, we also encourage kids in grades 6-11 to check out the enrichment scholarships available through the local Assistance League. Blue Skies for Children also offers scholarships through their Little Wishes program for kids ages 6-18.
