Donating to Wild Whatcom by transferring stock can be an easy and tax-efficient way to support our mission and programs! We can process stock transfers directly. Please contact our Operations Director, Rachel Budelsky, if you are interested in transferring stock at rachel@wildwhatcom.org or review our Instructions for Donating Stock for more information.

ira contributions

Individuals age 70½ or older can make tax-free gifts totaling up to $100,000 from a traditional IRA account directly to qualified charities. You cannot claim a charitable deduction for IRA gifts, but this distribution from your IRA counts towards your minimum required distribution and does NOT trigger income tax for you. It is a tax-free transfer from the IRA account directly to a charitable organization

For more information or to find out if the IRA Charitable Rollover is the best strategy for you, please check with your professional tax advisor.
