8:30-9:00: Drop-off* and Free Play

9:00-9:15: Opening Circle

  • Introductions: Share names and pronouns

  • Cover physical and heart safety

9:15-9:45: Toileting, Handwashing, and Snack

9:45-10:00: Safe Beach Etiquette

  • What marine life do you think we will find here today? How do we safely engage with this marine life?

    • Cover safe beach etiquette with call and response and body movements

10:00-11:30: Free Explore, Reading, Art

  • Free explore-looking for crabs, anemones, sand dollars, sea stars, and barnacles while learning about each incredible animal

  • Walk like crabs and build crabitats

  • Read about a crabby crab, a bored barnacle, and a pushy plankton

  • “Paint” beach rocks with water, make clay shell prints, and make bubble paintings

11:30-12:00: Toileting, Handwashing, and Lunch

12:00-12:30: Closing Circle

  • Attitude of gratitude

12:30: Pick-up

*Drop-off will be a window from 8:30-9:00AM. Please do your best to arrive as close to 8:30AM as possible. We anticipate that it may take some time for your child to become comfortable as you depart and we start the day.
